Courtney holds a Bachelor of Planning (hons), Bachelor of Māori Performing Arts, and Master of Science (dist). 

Courtney and her Kete Planning consultancy have become a hugely valuable asset to te Taiao. Among other things, Courtney is in charge of te Taiao contributions to the district and regional environmental policy and processes. She coordinates our involvement in resource management legislative reform, drafts internal resource management strategies and processes, and plans support for our treaty-based involvement in large-scale environmental projects.
